How we estimate
The counter starts from the latest analyst estimate (4,000,000 on February 28, 2025) and adds the sales since then, with more in the holiday months than in spring.
Valve publishes no units. After IDC's last estimate we assume about 800,000 a year, below the earlier pace, because the cheapest model was dropped and prices rose in 2026.
When new figures come out, the counter is corrected to match them.
